So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17

Our confession of faith

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and the only basis for the faith and life of all believers. It reveals a triune God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Father sent the Son as the Savior of lost humanity, separated from God by sin. Jesus, the blameless Son of God, died on the cross in the place of sinners and was buried. On the third day he rose again from death, as foretold in the Old Testament scriptures, to save lost mankind from eternal separation from God. Those who put their trust in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ are born again to new life with God through the Holy Spirit. It is the responsibility of all believers to work together in fellowship with Christ to bring the gospel message to all peoples of the earth so that God may be glorified in all things.

2 Timothy 3:16

WORD OF GOD

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

Our core values

1. The Word of God as our final authority

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Submit ourselves to God by gladly yielding to the authority of His Word in all we believe and do.
  • Actively seek direction from God’s Word in our decision making, never choosing contrary to it.
  • Remain true to the teachings of the Word of God, including those expressed in our doctrinal statement.

(Ps 119:89.105; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Peter 1:25)

2. A Spirit-controlled life

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Glorify Christ in our attitudes and actions.
  • Exercise our spiritual gifts so we can be more effective in ministry where God has placed us.
  • Enjoy freedom from striving and self-effort in our daily life and ministry.

(John 15:5; Romans 6:4; Galatians 5:16, 25)

3. Dependence on God

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Trust God to supply the personnel, direction and resources we need to do His will.
  • Glorify God and demonstrate our dependence upon Him by making our needs known to Him through prayer.
  • Depend on God individually and corporately, and not rely on the Mission in place of God.

(Proverbs 3:5-6; Romans 4:20-21; Phil. 4,6; Hebrews 11:6)

4. The role and responsibility of the local church in the Great Commission

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Consult the sending church on major changes or decisions affecting their missionary.
  • Respect the counsel of the sending church and recognize their authority in the life of the missionary.
  • Walk in the reality that Global Partners is not doing missions on behalf of the sending church but doing it with them.

(Acts 13:1-3; Acts 15:4)

5. Readiness to sacrifice for Christ and His church

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Carry His Gospel to parts of the world where living and working conditions are often difficult.
  • Persevere in completing His task with joy, even in the absence of ease or comfort.
  • Demonstrate that the Lord is worthy of any sacrifice we may be called upon to make for Him.

(I Corinthians 4:11; 2 Corinthians 8:2; Philippians 4:12; 2 Timothy 2:4)

6. Godly relationships and interdependence in ministry

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Obey God by maintaining the unity His Spirit has provided for us.
  • Glorify Christ by demonstrating our need of one another as members of His Body.
  • Use teamwork and plurality of leadership effectively to accomplish God’s work.

(I Corinthians 12:25; Ephesians 4:3; Philippians 2:1-4)

7. The potential of all believers to be used by God in the Great Commission

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Encourage believers that God gives each of His children the privilege of serving and glorifying Him.
  • Provide opportunity for service in GP based on the grace of God in glorifying Himself through the lives of the believers.
  • Assign ministries in a way that reflects the diversity of gifts represented by the individuals who make up GP.

(Romans 12:1; I Corinthians 1:26; 2 Corinthians 12:9)

8. Excellence and urgency in all we do to finish the task

Therefore we are committed to:

  • Redeem the time as demonstrated by Christ and His apostles in reaching the world with the Gospel.
  • Keep focused on the eternal value and destiny of souls.
  • Remain mindful of the immensity of the task before us.
  • Undertake each task with resolve, giving our best effort for His glory.
  • Reflect the faithful character of God by completing our tasks thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Increase our effectiveness in serving God at our individual and collective tasks by encouraging training and competency.

(John 4:35; John 9:4; Ephesians 5:16; Ephesians 6:6-7; Philippians 1:10; Colossians 3:23-24)
